OFFICIAL HOT AIR BALLOON RIDES:Rainbow Ryders is the ONLY hot air balloon company authorized to give balloon rides from BALLOON FIESTA® PARK for the world's largest balloon event, the ALBUQUERQUE INTERNATIONAL BALLOON FIESTA®. Rainbow Ryders launches directly from the excitement on the balloon fiesta field!
Rainbow Ryders is the ONLY COMPANY AUTHORIZED to give balloon rides from BALLOON FIESTA® PARK for the world's largest balloon event, the ALBUQUERQUE INTERNATIONAL BALLOON FIESTA®. The Balloon Fiesta® is scheduled for October 2-10, 2010. We will be offering hot air balloon flights during many of the events for the 2010 Fiesta®. The events include MASS ASCENSIONS, COMPETITIVE FLIGHTS, SPECIAL SHAPES RODEO and KEY GRABS.
All other RIDE companies will be launching a minimum of five miles from Balloon Fiesta® Park. Rainbow has been doing flights year-round in Albuquerque for the past 27 years - and is celebrating its 10th year as Official Ride Operator. The flights are launched from Balloon Fiesta® Park during scheduled Balloon Fiesta® morning events. During the flight, you will see a truly spectacular view as you drift free with the wind and embark upon a journey of uniqueness. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Sandia Mountains, the majestic Rio Grande River and valley, the City and over 500 other Hot Air Balloons.
After your flight has landed, the balloon will be packed up and we will celebrate our flight with the traditional Champagne Toast and you will receive your commemorative official "Balloon Fiesta® Flight Certificate" and "Balloon Fiesta® Flight Pin". After returning to the park, you are free to explore the many exhibits and booths on the Balloon Fiesta® field.
Flight Gear and Preparation As you leave that morning dress comfortably, and preferably in layers, the early am temperatures in New Mexico range from the 30's to 50's however, it warms up quickly in the "high desert" New Mexico sun. We also suggest you don't wear heals, dresses, or sandals. Don't forget to bring your camera! ANYONE WHO IS PREGNANT OR POSSIBLY PREGNANT CANNOT FLY.
